Department of Education Highlights Christina School District’s 2026 Assessment Gains
Christina School District highlighted by DOE for 2026 assessment gains, with ELA and Math proficiency each rising two percentage points.

The Delaware Department of Education recently highlighted Christina School District for its assessment gains from 2025 to 2026. Districtwide proficiency increased by 2 percentage points in both English language arts and mathematics.
Several elementary schools demonstrated particularly strong growth. Thurgood Marshall Elementary School increased English language arts proficiency by 11 percentage points and mathematics proficiency by 12.4 percentage points. Brookside Elementary School also made significant progress, with English language arts proficiency rising by nearly 10 percentage points and mathematics proficiency increasing by 11.2 percentage points.
These results reflect the dedicated efforts of our students, educators, school leaders, families, and community partners. The lessons learned from these gains will help inform continued efforts to expand effective practices and support achievement across the district.
