GBC Men's Cross Country

Goldey-Beacom’s men’s cross country team saw its overall dedication to teamwork, comradery and community service recognized as the winner of their sport’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Sportsmanship Award.

The squad under second-year coach Andrew Shearer has become one of the most liked in the area and on campus. The unit picked up the well-deserved award thanks to its accomplishments on and off the course.

On the course, the squad recorded third-place finishes September 22 at the GBC Fall Classic and October 7 at the CNU Invitational. One of the many bright spots for the unit has been junior Jono Hooper (Brisbane, Australia), who has closed in the top 20 in four of his five races this year, including a third-place showing at the GBC Fall Classic.
