Goldey-Beacom Volleyball Rallies Falls Short in 3-1 Loss to Jefferson
Goldey-Beacom fought off a match point in the third set only to be handed a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (5-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-25) by Jefferson in Wilmington, DE.
GBC in the third set was down as much as 15-11 before rallying within 24-23 and then leveling the stanza on an attack error. Sophomore Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) then got a kill before junior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) recorded an ace to close the set.

But the Rams in the fourth set got eight kills and just two errors to record a .300 hitting percentage and grab the match.
Freshman Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD) had 12 kills and 11 digs for her 14th double-double of the year, sophomore Morgan Andrews (Wilmington, DE/Delaware Military Academy) notched 18 digs, Florence dished 17 assists and sophomore Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, DE/Delaware Military Academy) added 14 for the Lightning (7-14, 6-6 CACC).

Courtney Wensel had 17 kills, 12 digs and a .457 hitting percentage for the Rams (16-6, 11-1), who closed with a 52-36 kills edge. Daniela Cintron had 10 kills and 10 digs, Corinne Justus pounded 11 kills and Alexandra Harrington added 41 assists.
Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Concordia (NY) for a noon match.
