Exciting News! We are proud to announce that Jessica Liu, Wilson Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year, has been named the Christina School District’s 2026-2027 District Teacher of the Year! This morning, Superintendent Dr. Deirdra Joyner, along with Assistant Superintendents Norm Kennedy and Courtney Voshell, Directors of Teaching and Learning Aaron Selekman and Erin Cassel, and MLL Administrator Amber Herrera surprised Jessica with this district honor.

Jessica Liu has been part of the Christina School District for 4 years and brings 9 years of teaching experience to her role. She places community and belonging at the center of her work, striving to unite students, families, and staff—whether through engaging classroom instruction or organizing impactful schoolwide events.

Jessica will now represent Christina School District in the statewide competition for Delaware’s Teacher of the Year, which will be announced by the Department of Education this fall.
