After a year-long journey in the Youth in City Government program filled with research, speeches, and citywide voting, something incredible happened for Pritchett students! Out of nine schools and more than 300 students across the city, six outstanding Pritchett students were chosen and appointed as new City Leaders:

  • Destani Sutton, 5th grade - President of City Council
  • Tamara Wesley, 5th grade - City Solicitor
  • Christian Silva, 4th grade - Chief of Police
  • Sahara Dunson, 4th grade - Director of Finance
  • Angel Beltran, 4th grade - City Council District 4
  • Adrian Moore, 4th grade - City Council District 7

During the welcome speeches, both the City Treasurer and the City Councilman at Large proudly shared that they used to be Christina students. When they were kids, they participated in the Youth in City Government program—one attended Bancroft, and the other went to Stubbs.

This achievement not only highlights the leadership potential within the Pritchett Academy but also continues a proud tradition of youth shaping the future of our city—just as past participants have done before them.
