University of Delaware Women's Golf

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware junior Ashley Dingman was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday after her outstanding performance at the Delaware Invitational last weekend.

Dingman earned medalist honors at the Blue Hens’ home tournament on Saturday and Sunday, posting a two-shot victory with a two under par 73-73-68-214 on the par 72, 6,180-yard course at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.

Dingman, who earned her first career individual title, fired the second lowest 54-hole score in Blue Hen history. Her final round 68 also is tied for the second lowest round in UD history.

Dingman helped lead Delaware to a second place team finish at the invitational, as the Blue Hens placed among the top three squads in four of their five fall tournaments.

Dingman ranked second on the Blue Hens with a 75.14 average round this fall, and finished among the top 20 individuals in all but one tournament.
