Wilmington, Del. – Rockland Place, a Watermark Retirement Community, commends its associates who have received recognition for exceptional work through Watermark’s annual awards. Rockland Place recently held a local ceremony to honor all winners from the Wilmington-based community.
The awards are presented to associates from Watermark’s 40 communities nationwide who exemplify the company’s vision of creating extraordinary communities where people thrive.
Rockland Place is home to up to 95 residents and offers Assisted Living and two levels of Memory Care. Executive Director Jen Quinones said that the awards validate the hard work and dedication of Rockland Place associates. “We strive to create a thriving community through outstanding educational and wellness programs and innovative offerings that exceed the expectations of our residents. The associates honored this year make it happen.”
Those recognized include Bobbi Cassidy, resident care director, who earned both a Breakthrough Award for electronic documentation and communication improvement and a Watermark University Faculty Award. Dorene Stocker, human resource director, also received a Watermark University Faculty Award. Cassidy and Stocker partnered to lead a class called Cocktails with a Twist. Their Watermark Faculty Award recognizes their commitment to Watermark University, a continuing education program designed to keep residents’ minds and bodies active, engaged and fit.
Executive Director Jen Quinones earned a Breakthrough Award for the launch of Thrive Dining at Rockland Place, an innovative approach to serving well-balanced traditional dishes in one and two bite portions to benefit individuals who have difficulty using a knife and fork.
Fourteen associates from Rockland Place were also honored for overall excellence. Among them was Howard “Lee” Limberry, a medicine technician on the community’s care team. In addition to providing care, he hosts a “Chatting with Lee” class for residents once a month and serves on the Dream Team, which strives to ensure that all thoughts, suggestions, solutions and ideas are explored surrounding working at Rockland Place.
Patrick Therkildsen, an associate for 13 years, was also recognized for not only his maintenance work, but also his involvement with residents. He recently led a class for residents on Bonsai plants. Another associate recognized for her work was Maria Boslego, a member of the Rockland Place community life team. She received countless compliments this year from families for going above and beyond to make their loved ones feel special. She will even stop in on her days off to say hi to residents.
In addition to these individual awards, Watermark Retirement Communities also recognized Rockland Place for Excellence in Standards Review, which means the community earned an average of 90 percent or more in achieving the high standards set by Watermark. In addition, the community’s housekeeping and maintenance departments were acknowledged for achieving 95 percent or greater on standards measures for two consecutive years.
