When officers arrived, they found Khamyah Honesty unresponsive and suffering from blunt force injuries, police said. D.C. Fire and EMS took the infant to a hospital, where she later died.

On Tuesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined she died from blunt force trauma and ruled her death a homicide.

Police said detectives determined the case had "domestic overtones" but did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding Khamyah's injuries. No arrests or charges have been announced.
