Crystal City Wine Shop Closing After 14 Years: Report

ARLINGTON, VA — Crystal City Wine Shop will close at the end of the month after 14 years in business, ARLnow reported.

A sign posted at the store says Oct. 31 will be its final day. "Thank you for 14 memorable and joyful years," the business told customers. Store representatives did not respond to ARLnow's questions about the reason for the closure.

The nonprofit Washington Wine Academy opened the shop in March 2012 after event attendees began asking where they could buy the wines they sampled.

At the time, it was Crystal City's only gourmet wine shop.

The neighborhood has since gained more specialty beverage businesses, including Flight Wine Shop in 2025 and Beauty Champagne & Sugar Boutique in 2022.
