MELBOURNE, FL — Multiple people were rescued on Tuesday after a plane crashed off the coast of Florida, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
In a statement released on social media, the Coast Guard Southeast District said a search was launched to locate the plane after it crashed about 80 miles off the coast of Melbourne.
According to authorities, the 10 people onboard the aircraft are all accounted for and have been taken to emergency medical services for further evaluation.
Authorities did not release details about the plane's size or what led up to the crash.
The cause remains under investigation.
