Another Avon Park woman, age 37, was driving a Corolla that was also involved in the crash and suffered serious injuries, according to WFLA. Others were hurt in the crash as well and were expected to recover, FOX 13 Tampa Bay reported, noting additional vehicles in the crash included a Honda Civic and a second semitrailer.

After the crash, the striking semi traveled roughly 400 feet through a field, went onto a small road, then struck a fence and came to rest partially in a ditch, FOX 13 reported, adding the truck's driver was not seriously hurt.
