The railroad has secured new financing, continues to promote discounted fares, and says ridership is growing, though court documents warn that higher ticket prices and other changes could eventually be needed to manage its heavy debt load.

Stuart on Architecture, Education & Miami (communitynewspapers.com) — Residents in Aventura are part of the broader Miami-Dade communities reached by Miami Community Newspapers, which is highlighting a conversation with FIU architecture professor John A. Stuart about how design and education shape local neighborhoods. The family-owned outlet distributes print and digital news from Aventura down through Homestead, plus podcasts that dig into Miami's culture and community issues.
• Man injured after accidentally shooting himself at bus stop in North Miami (wsvn.com) — A man who accidentally shot himself while exiting a Miami-Dade transit bus in North Miami was later taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where his condition remains unknown. Police say the gun discharged from his waistband, prompting a large response around Northeast Sixth Avenue. Detectives recovered the firearm and continue investigating how the accidental shooting occurred.
