Supporting Seniors: Meals on Wheels South Florida Preps Clients for Hurricane Season

Meals on Wheels South Florida Partners with Florida Power & Light Company and The Florida Council on Aging to Deliver Hurricane Preparedness Meal Kits to Seniors in Broward County

As hurricane season approaches, it is vital to ensure seniors have the necessary supplies, safety checks, and community support they need to stay safe and connected. Thanks to the generosity of Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and the Florida Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels South Florida will deliver emergency preparedness meal kits to the homes of their senior clients throughout Broward County.

Who: Meals on Wheels South Florida’s staff and volunteers will deliver three hurricane meal kits to each client, along with a printed hurricane guide to keep them safe and informed during storm season.

What: FPL and Meals on Wheels South Florida will distribute hurricane preparedness meal kits to more than 100 seniors across Broward County. With the start of what is anticipated to be an above-average storm season, this effort will help provide vital supplies to seniors in the community.
