Flooding Affects Spirit Flights in Fort Lauderdale Airport
Some Spirit flights out of Fort Lauderdale airport were disrupted by flooding in Terminal 4 on Tuesday

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Some Spirit Airlines flights out of Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport were disrupted on Tuesday when a concourse flooded, according to airport officials. The flooding affected flights in Concourse G. Officials did not know immediately determine what caused the flooding.
Airport spokesman Allan Siegel told Patch that the flooding also affected the security checkpoint for flights departing from Concourses G and H.
"There’s one security checkpoint for both concourses," he explained, noting that passengers were being sent to other security checkpoints.

Siegel said that Concourse G is mainly used by Spirit Airlines. He did not know when normal operations would resume or what caused the flooding.
"There was a flood, cause unknown so our crews are down there repairing," he said.

Gates G10 - G14 are open and accessible through T3, E and F Checkpoints, according to airport officials.
"There’s been a minimal impact to our flight schedule," Spirit's Stephen Schuler told Patch. "We’re advising customers to use the TSA checkpoints at terminal 3 for the time being."
Siegel said that passengers departing from Concourse G on Tuesday should contact their airline to find out how their flights might be affected.
The flooding was reported around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
