"The allegations are completely false. In the few hours since we've learned about them we've already discovered many red flags about this young woman's background and the allegations she made against Michael," the attorney told TMZ. "Even the complaint that she made specifically says she does not recall the events that took place. She was very drunk that night. Nothing happened and there was no assault."

Fort Lauderdale Detective Tracy Figone told Patch on Wednesday that the incident is part of an open investigation.

"The Fort Lauderdale Police Department did not provide TMZ with any of the details/information that they provided in their news piece," she said in a statement. "The only information that we did provide was the case number and that Michael Irvin was listed in an incident report of sexual battery."

Fort Lauderdale police logged the incident report at 6:44 a.m. on March 22.

According to the TMZ report, the unnamed woman said she had to fight off Irvin when she went back to Irvin's room and began to feel sick. The website reported that the woman told police she feared she had been drugged and raped.

Before joining the Dallas Cowboys as a first round draft pick in 1988, Irvin was a start player for the Miami Hurricanes.

The 6 foot 2 inch Irvin went on to become one of the all-time best receivers in his 12 seasons with the Cowboys and was selected to play in five straight Pro Bowls.
