Miami Norland Senior High School Placed on Lockdown
The high school was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon as police searched for a suspect in the area.

MIAMI GARDENS, FL — Miami Norland Senior High School was placed on lockdown on Friday afternoon. It was not clear if students were still in the building. The school is located at 1193 NW 193rd St.
"The school was placed on lockdown as police searched for a suspect in the area, but the suspect has been detained and the lockdown has been lifted," Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez told Patch.
Gonzalez said that the lockdown went into effect around 4:45pm and was lifted around 5:30 p.m.

It was not immediately clear if there was any connection between the suspect and the school.
