Lockdown Lifted At North Miami Senior High School

North Miami Senior High School was placed on lockdown for a time on Monday as officials searched for a weapon but none was found.

NORTH MIAMI, FL — North Miami Senior High School was placed on lockdown for much of Monday morning as school officials searched for a weapon. The lockdown was lifted around noon.

"Lockdown lifted. No weapon," Daisy Gonzalez of Miami-Dade County Public Schools told Patch shortly after noon.

North Miami Senior High School is located at 13110 NE 8th Avenue in North Miami.

The district's John Schuster told Patch that the lockdown was called after an early morning phone call to the principal.

"The principal received a call at the start of the school day saying that there was a weapon on campus," Schuster said.
