Man Stabbed at Aventura Synagogue in 'Domestic-Related' Incident
Aventura police took the assailant into custody without incident.

AVENTURA, FL — An unidentified man was stabbed three times at the Beid Edmond Safra Synagogue early Tuesday morning and his 56-year-old assailant is in custody following an incident that police are describing as a "domestic-related issue."

The incident took place at 6:53 a.m. at 19275 Mystic Point Drive.

"There is absolutely no nexus to terrorism or terrorism-related activities in any way," police stressed.

Fifty-six-year-old Eitan Yefet was charged with attempted premeditated murder. The name of the victim was not released.
Police said that the disagreement appeared to be over a woman.
"We got called by people at the temple that there was an incident occurring," Major Michael Bentolila of the Aventura Police Department told Patch, adding that Yefet was taken into custody without incident.
He said that there may have been a prayer service going on at the time.
"I know there were people in the building," he said, noting that Aventura police responded within several minutes of the call being received.
The victim is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
On Monday, city officials in Miami Beach said they were "deeply saddened" by the weekend incident in which the vehicles were keyed with swastikas in a neighborhood that has many Jewish residents.
