Pedestrian Killed Near Aventura Mall

AVENTURA, FL — A pedestrian was struck and killed by what appeared to be a Hummer on Monday afternoon not far from Aventura Mall.

"A pedestrian was unfortunately killed by a vehicle at 199th St. and Biscayne Boulevard while crossing the street," Sgt. Chris Goranitis of the Aventura Police Department told Patch.

Goranitis said police are not yet releasing the name of the pedestrian or the name of the driver.

"The vehicle remained on the scene and the driver was cooperative," he added.
