'Straight Outta Compton' Star Arrested in Florida Hotel

SUNNY ISLES, FL — R. Marcos Taylor, one of the stars of "Straight Outta Compton" was charged with battery following a Sunday night incident at the Marenas Beach Resort, according to court records and news accounts. The hotel is located in Sunny Isles Beach, which is about 12 miles north of Miami Beach. Reports said that Taylor got into an altercation with a security guard at the hotel after he was asked to remove his feet from a hotel lobby table.

The hotel is located at Collins Avenue and 187th Street. The incident reportedly occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday night in the lobby area. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Aventura Patch.)

The NBC television affiliate in Miami reported that Taylor shoved the hotel guard multiple times before the fight broke out.

The charge is listed as a misdemeanor in court records.

Taylor played "Suge" Knight in the movie blockbuster "Straight Outta Compton." According to his biography, he has more than 30 years of experience in martial arts.

The 2015 "Straight Outta Compton" is the story of a group that emerges from the mean streets of Compton in Los Angeles only to revolutionize Hip Hop culture.
