Woman Dies After Being Hit By Train In Aventura
Terri A. Morhoff was killed by an FEC train just days after celebrating her 53rd birthday.

AVENTURA, FL — A woman who was struck by a freight train on Tuesday has died, according to Aventura police. The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. at 183rd Street just off Biscayne Boulevard. The train is operated by Florida East Coast Railway (FEC).
Sergeant Chris Goranitis, of the Aventura Police Department identified the victim as Terri A. Morhoff on Thursday. Police have not said what led to Morhoff being struck by the train.
FEC has not responded to a request for comment.

Morhoff celebrated her 53rd birthday on Oct. 11.
The incident forced police to close Miami Gardens Drive for a time at Biscayne Boulevard for eastbound and westbound traffic during Tuesday's morning rush hour.

Morhoff was taken to nearby Aventura Hospital in critical condition by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue where she later died.
