140 Deputies To Take Part In Active Shooter Training At Newsome

During the exercises, there will be increased deputy presence and actors with apparent wounds so those driving by should not be alarmed.

LITHIA, FL -- On Friday, July 27, 140 Hillsborough County school resource deputies and Hillsborough County Schools security officers will put their hard work and training to the test in an intense, active shooter training exercise.

Training, meant to simulate a real-life active threat inside a school, will include dozens of teen-aged actors with fake injuries.

Training will begin at noon and end at approximately 5:30 p.m. at Newsome High School, 16550 Fishhawk Blvd., Lithia.
