18-Year-Old Man Thrown From An Overturned Car Dies In Riverview
The driver of the overturned vehicle crashed into the back of another vehicle prior to overturning, said police.
RIVERVIEW, FL — An 18-year-old Wimauma man who was a passenger in a car died after he was thrown from it when it overturned in the median on Interstate 75 northbound near the Gibsonton exit on May 11, according to a news release. His friend, the driver attempted to pass another car but hit the back of it and went into the median and overturned. The 18-year-old man was the only person thrown from the overturned vehicle, said police. There was also another passenger in the car. The second vehicle involved in the crash stopped on the shoulder.
The driver and other passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other car didn't have any injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol has not released the name of the victim yet as they notify next of kin.
