22-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed Crossing Interstate 75

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- A 22-year-old Tampa woman has died after being struck by an SUV on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 4:50 a.m. May 12, Maria Beatrice Pillion, 49, of Parrish was driving a Hummer south on I-75 at the 240 milepost. Courtney Ellen Krysa was standing next to two vehicles parked on the shoulder when she began to cross the highway and walked into the path of the Hummer. She died at the scene.
