82-year-old Bloomingdale East Man Charged With Molesting Boy

VALRICO, FL – An 82-year-old Bloomingdale East man is facing multiple sexual battery and molestation counts after being accused of having sex with an 11-year-old boy.

Robert Elwin Schultz of 4034 Eagles Nest Drive, Valrico, was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 24, after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accusation that a child at a confidential East Hillsborough County address was being molested by Schultz.

During an interview with detectives, Schultz admitted to performing oral sex on the child multiple times, masturbating the 11-year-old and coercing the boy to masturbate him.

Schultz told detectives that he knew the victim and specifically targeted him.

Schultz has been charged with three counts of capital sexual battery on a victim under age 12, six counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and three counts of sexual battery on a victim under age 12.

He’s being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
