87-Year-Old Man Killed After Golf Cart Is Struck By Car
An 87-year-old Sun City Center man has died at Tampa General Hospital from injuries sustained when his golf cart was struck by a car.

SUN CITY CENTER, FL — An 87-year-old Sun City Center man has died at Tampa General Hospital from injuries sustained when his golf cart was struck by a car.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, Janet Hassell, 77, of Sun City Center was driving a Ford Focus west on State Road 674 when she ran a red light at El Rancho Drive and struck a golf cart driven by Barry Myers, who had a green light.
Troopers said the front of the car struck the golf cart, causing it to overturn and ejecting Myers, who died from his injuries at 5:43 p.m. Saturday.

Charges against Hassell are pending.
