Amazon Set to Add 2,000 New Jobs in Tampa Bay

The company already employs more than 2,000 people at its centers in Ruskin and Lakeland.

Tampa Bay area residents in the market for new jobs may find what they’re looking for in the coming months courtesy of a planned expansion of the workforce at Amazon’s two regional fulfillment centers.

The online retail giant has announced it intends to double its Florida workforce over the next year.

“I am excited to announce that Amazon is expanding in Florida and adding more than 2,000 new jobs, which will more than double their current Florida workforce in less than a year,” Gov. Rick Scott said in announcing the expansion. “We have worked hard to create a pro-business environment that encourages growth and innovation so companies like Amazon can succeed.”
