Apollo Beach Home Catches Fire While Owners Out Of Town
Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that tore through a home in Apollo Beach early Monday morning.
APOLLO BEACH, FL — Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that tore through a home in Apollo Beach early Monday morning.
Multiple 911 calls came into the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue dispatch center shortly after midnight reporting smoke and flames coming from the roof of a home on Islebay Drive.
Engine 29 was first on the scene, confirming visible flames and smoke through most of the roof, and beginning a defensive attack to protect surrounding homes.

Firefighters also mounted an aerial operation to dump large amounts of water on the roof to extinguish the blaze.
The homeowners were out of town, and the house was unoccupied when the fire broke out.
