Update: Riverview Teen Stable After Bike Crash
Hillsborough County deputies say she rode into the path of an oncoming car.

Update Sept. 16, 9:30 a.m.: A 17-year-old Riverview High School student was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital following a Tuesday morning bike-versus-car crash on Balm Riverview Road.
The crash occurred around 6:51 a.m. as an Acura Integra, driven by Cazz Bedford, 23, was heading northbound on Balm Riverview Road, approaching Whispering Creek Boulevard. As the Acura neared the intersection, a bicycle ridden by Sabrina Kucel “darted in front of the vehicle,” wrote Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristal Bermudez Nunez in an email to media.
The car struck Kucel.

Bedford will not be charged in the accident, which caused the closing of Balm River Road for a time Tuesday morning.
Kucel was airlifted to Tampa General in stable condition, Bermudez Nunez said.

Update Sept. 16, 8:11 a.m.: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says the road is now open. No details about the crash are available as of yet.
Earlier:
Motorists might want to avoid Balm River Road near Whispering Creek Boulevard this morning.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has closed the intersection due to a crash involving a pedestrian. The accident happened around 6:51 a.m.
It is unclear when the road will reopen.
