Blueberry Picking and a Happy Mother's Day

I just took my Mom and the kids Blueberry Picking for some early Mom's Day fun.

One of my teens grumbled about going, but ended up having fun despite himself.

We picked 10 pounds of blueberries for $30. Lots to eat, lots for smoothies and pies, ice cream toppings and muffins, and lots to freeze for later!

There are several places to pick blueberries, but most of them will be done after this weekend, so hurry!

We found Brookdale Farm in Plant City to be a very warm and friendly, family-owned place. They even treated each mom to a wonderfully refreshing tangerine fruit drink!

Though she started out concerned about walking with her bad knees, and the heat of the sun on her head, my 85-year-old Mom loved picking her own blueberries!.

 Now I need to go check online for some great recipes.
