How to Get Rich Treasure Hunting

Sharon Summerall's husband purchases an upscale metal detector in an effort to have something to do at the beach while Sharon is soaking up the rays. Take a look at what he found!

Rich in Having Fun, That Is!

Lets just start by saying that I love the beach, and my husband does not. I grew up going to Anna Maria Island and have wonderful memories of going there as a child. Anna Maria Island is described by the Chamber Of Commerce as a quaint barrier island nestled in the Gulf Of Mexico.

Anna Maria Island is still my favorite place to go when I want to get away, and I usually go alone or with a friend since my husband is not a "beach person." Well, let's just say that he was not a "beach person" until last weekend.

My husband decided that he would purchase a pricey metal detector so that he could treasure hunt while I lie in my chair soaking up the rays at the beach (with sunscreen on of course!)

He went to White's Electronics in Tampa and purchased a top-of-the-line and top-of-the-price metal detector.  This metal detector is supposed to even detect hidden treasures in the water and near the shore line ... perfect for the beach!

The biggest treasure that my husband found was a set of car keys complete with two bottle openers. He found lots of beer tabs and bottle caps and 4 quarters and some pennies too. And, did you know that there are hundreds of pieces of aluminum foil buried underneath the sand?

My husband may not have found any gold or silver but we did get rich this past weekend at Anna Maria Island. We shared time together, and he even got some exercise and fresh air too.

I am hoping that the metal detector will eventually pay for itself. In addition to the $1.46 that he already found, he only needs to find $998.54 more and it will be paid for.

Even if he doesn't find another dime, the real treasure will be in the time that we spend together at the beach.
