Punishing success is counterproductive
Government needs to allow the free market to operate as intended
Everyone and their mother has an idea or opinion on how to turn the US economy around. But it really comes down to three words: Stop punishing success!
The government has suggested that we need to "tax the rich", in order for them to pay their "fair share". So the argument is, if you are rich, then you need to be taxed into the ground.
If you ask anyone that subscribes to this ideology, they can't give you a number as to what they condsider "rich". Even if they could produce a number, why should it be up to the government, or any individual for that matter, to decide when we make too much? In order for a business to prosper, it needs to make a profit so that it can expand its services, increase production, or both. A business cannot grow without profit, yet the idiots in washington have made the word profit and dirty word.

Unfortunately, Americans keep electing these people to represent them. If you show business owners that you are going to punish them for making money, that will destroy the incentive to be successful, or to even bother doing business in the first place. Businesses create jobs, not the government. Massive amounts of money are sitting in offshore banks due to uncertainty and fear of the future of the US and world economy. But the White House continues to scream at companies for not hiring workers, when they have given them no means by which to do so.
Starting next month, the US will have the highest corporate tax rate in the world. I am not comfortable with the POTUS saying, "At some point you have made enough money". I think that it is shameful that we have a president that thinks it is his job to tell someone how much of Americans' hard earned money he thinks they should be able to keep. Stop punishing people for being successful, and everything else will fall into place.

We need to create incentives for companies to supply goods and services. We need to stop treating them like they are doing something wrong. Capitalism works, when you allow it to operate the way that it was intended.
