The architect's toolbox

Over the course of the last 9 months I’ve been writing several pieces on Houzz about the tools architects use.  No, I’m not talking about t-squares, triangles, scales, etc.  I’m talking about design tools; things like how to connect a house to the earth, how to create a sight line and how to wash a wall with light.  You see, just like any other professional, an architect uses these tools to design a home that’s special and specific to its place.

So when you meet with an architect to talk about your next project, whether new construction or remodeling, ask the architect about these tools and how some can be used on your project.
