Bradenton Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver

A 64-year-old Bradenton man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck on 301 Boulevard East in Bradenton Saturday.

BRADENTON, FL -- A 64-year-old Bradenton man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck on 301 Boulevard East and 41st Avenue East in Bradenton Saturday, Nov. 3.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:48 p.m. a Chevy Silverado was heading west on 301 Boulevard East approaching the intersection of 41st Avenue East.

Tomas Xon-Gurcas was walking across 301 Boulevard East and entered the westbound lane in front of the truck. After striking Xon-Gurcas, the Silverado fled west on 301 Boulevard East and turned right on U.S. 41. When the driver noticed he was being followed by witnesses, he fled down several side streets and was able to lose them.

Xon-Gurcas was transported to Blake Medical Center where he later died.

The Silverado is described as black, possibly a 2006-08 model.
