Brandon's 4th Of July 2020 Event Canceled

Although Brandon's traditional 4th of July Parade is canceled, there is a safe way to watch this year's fireworks elsewhere.

BLOOMINGDALE-RIVERVIEW —Although the Bloomingdale-Riverview area doesn't usually have traditional crowded 4th of July celebrations such as they do in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Brandon, many residents do travel to Brandon for the annual 4th of July Parade. However, the Brandon parade has been canceled this year thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

Many Tampa Bay cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events.

A safe, crowd free alternative this year is a virtual firework show presented by North Port Freedom Festival Fireworks. The virtual event is from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 4, and can be watched via livestream on the Parks & Recreation North Port Facebook page. Listeners can also enjoy the show by tuning in to WKDW 97.5 FM.
