Burglars Go Fishing For Stolen Goods At Marine Store
Hillsborough County detectives are hoping the public can help identify the men who broke into a marine store and stole $200,000 in goods.
APOLLO BEACH, FL – Hillsborough County detectives are hoping the public can help identify the men who broke into a marine store and stole $200,000 worth of marine electronics and fishing gear.
The break-in occurred at West Marine, 6492 U.S. 41 N., Apollo Beach, between 11:54 p.m. May 28 and 4 a.m. May 29.
According to the sheriff’s office, the thieves broke through a block wall at the back of the business, disabled the alarm and video surveillance system and then began loading boxes of stolen goods into a U-Haul box truck.

Nearby surveillance video captured a white Chevrolet Suburban and the U-Haul box truck. Two man can be seen on the video carrying plywood to the rear of the store.
The Suburban had black racing stripes on the hood, roof and rearm, and an unknown decal on the front windshield.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the burglars. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online or send a mobile tip using the P3 Tips Mobile application.
