Code Enforcement Unveils Anti-Graffiti Unit
The new anti-graffiti truck was purchased through a state justice assistance grant.
Hillsborough County Code Enforcement officers launched their new Anti-Graffiti Unit yesterday to clean up gang graffiti in parts of eastern Hillsborough County.
The team cleaned and painted over graffiti on houses located on property on Holloway Road near Plant City. The crew also successfully cleaned graffiti from Tampa Electric Company poles and county road signs as well.
The new anti-graffiti truck was purchased through a state justice assistance grant, with no county tax dollars being spent. The project emphasizes the Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative (CAGI) partnership, which includes Code Enforcement, Hillsborough County Criminal Justice, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Tampa Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with several federal agencies including the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, the FBI and ATF.
