Teen Sustains Fatal Injuries Following Crash On Bloomingdale
A 19-year-old Brandon man reportedly sustained fatal injuries in a crash Tuesday, Nov. 13 on Bloomingdale Avenue at Culbreath Road.

VALRICO, FL -- A 19-year-old Brandon man reportedly sustained fatal injuries in a crash Tuesday, Nov. 13 on Bloomingdale Avenue at Culbreath Road.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at 2:24 p.m., Tanner Roper of the 3700 block of Eaglewood Street in Valrico was running south on the crosswalk with a no-walk signal when he entered the path of a 2010 Cadillac CTS driven by Mary Henry, 73, of Brandon. Henry was traveling east on Bloomingdale Avenue in the left through lane on a yellow signal.
The front right corner of the Cadillac struck Roper and he was thrown to the south shoulder of the road.

He was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries.
Word quickly spread to the schools he attended including Bloomingdale High School and Cimino Elementary School. Friends and former teachers offered prayers to the family on Facebook.

No charges were filed against Henry who stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies.
