Couple On Motorcycle Killed In Riverview By Accused Drunk Driver
Two people are dead after an accused drunk driver crashed into their motorcycle Saturday night, April 14. according to state troopers.

RIVERVIEW, FL — Two people are dead after an accused drunk driver crashed into their motorcycle Saturday night, April 14. according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say 37-year-old Kerry Jason Webb of Riverview, who was operating the motorcycle, and passenger 25-year-old Angelina Elizabeth Torrey of Valrico were killed when a 2009 Lexus RX350 struck them around 9:35 p.m. on U.S. 301.
According to the FHP, Benson Craig Johnston, 34, was driving the Lexus south on U.S. 301 toward Johanna Avenue while Webb and Torrey were riding north on U.S. 301. Johnston tried to turn left onto Johanna Avenue as the motorcycle entered the intersection, and the vehicles collided.

The two victims were ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the road. Both were wearing helmets at the time, according troopers, but Webb died at the scene. Torrey was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital where she later died.
Johnston fled the crash on foot, troopers reported. He went to his home 10850 Lake St. Charles Blvd.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies found him there and brought him back to the accident scene, where he was charged with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash.
Johnston is being held without bond in the Hillsborough County Jail.
