Credit Cards Stolen From Planet Fitness Lockers By Couple: Police

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is looking for 2 suspects who were seen on video at Riverview fitness club stealing from lockers.

BLOOMINGDALE - RIVERVIEW, FL — Police are searching for two suspects who were seen on camera at stores making purchases with stolen credit cards they took from lockers at a fitness club in Riverview on June 12, a police news release said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the suspects entered two lockers in the men’s locker room at Planet Fitness located at 9822 301 Highway South. The suspects took credit cards from the lockers and made multiple fraudulent purchases at various stores.

Authorities said that one of the suspects is a white man who is between the ages of 30-45; between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160-180 pounds.

The second suspect seen on camera is a white woman in the 30-45 age range; between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 125 to 140 pounds, said police.

They are driving a black 2007-2018 Jeep Patriot, and detectives didn't see the tag information on the footage.

“Detectives believe these individuals may be traveling from out of the area and could be committing similar crimes in other communities,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a news release. “Anyone with information on their identity is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200."

Patch offered tips to keep your belonging safe when you are at the gym:

  • If you have personal items of value, leave them at home.
  • If you have to bring personal items, get a fanny pack and keep them on you at all times. Do not leave your keys unattended anywhere.
  • Use a lock on your gym locker.
  • Also, another way to stay safe is to never leave your bags, purses, wallets or any other possessions unattended even for a moment. Know where your property is when you are working out.
  • Be aware of your surroundings when you get to the parking lot and report any suspicious activity.
  • Keep a written record of valuables, including descriptions and serial numbers. These are proof that the property is yours and will aid in the reporting process and recovery.
  • Always report missing or stolen property immediately.
