Dog Dies in Riverview Fire

The blaze broke out early Sunday morning.

An early Sunday morning fire has left a Riverview woman homeless and her small dog dead.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the fire at 13020 Lincoln Road was reported around 1:50 a.m. When rescue crews arrived, they found two large pole barns and a shed fully engulfed. A 5th wheel trailer was parked inside one of the pole barns.

“The owner of the 5th wheel trailer was sleeping inside the trailer when the fire started,” Fire Rescue’s Ronnie Rivera wrote in an email to media. “She was able to exit the trailer safely before fire rescue arrival, unfortunately her small dog was not able to get out and perished in the fire.”
