Estranged Husband Killed By Deputies In Riverview Neighborhood

A 60-year-old man is dead following a shooting involving two Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies in Riverview.

RIVERVIEW, FL – A 60-year-old man is dead following a shooting involving two Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies in Riverview.

At 3:10 a.m. Friday, July 13, deputies were called to 11000 block of Estates Del Sol Drive by a woman claiming her estranged husband showed up at her home and would not leave.

Deputies Joshua Berrios, 27, and Dannett Brennan, 31, responded to the scene and found the ex-husband, Tim Gohann Braun, 60, of 11344 U.S. 41, Gibsonton standing in a neighbor's yard holding a beer in one hand and a handgun in the other.

Deputies say he did not respond to several commands to drop the weapon. He threw away the beer and then pointed the gun at the deputies. The deputies said they were in fear for their lives and shot Braun multiple times. Neither deputy was injured.
