Free Legal Series

The Brandon Bar Association will host a free legal seminar on "Short Sales: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" Tuesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the Brandon Regional Library, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon.

The session will feature attorney, Rory Weiner, discussing the legal issues pertaining to short sales. This is the 11th session in the Brandon Bar's Legal Information Series with a range of topics from estate planning to divorce to bankruptcy. Area residents are encouraged to attend and have their legal questions answered.  Givens will present information relating to real estate law and short sales, a pertinent topic in the volatile real estate market in East Hillsborough County.

Givens is an associate with the firm, focusing his practice on commercial litigation and construction law. He spent five years as an associate at the Tampa office of Bush Ross, P.A. He is an honors graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, where he was a member of the moot court team and the Journal of Law and Public Policy. He graduated law school cum laude in May 2003. He also attended the University of Florida as an undergraduate, majoring in journalism, and graduated with honors in 2000.
