What: Florida Master Money Mentor Certification Training
When: June 4, 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants must attend all sessions.
Where: Hillsborough County Extension Office, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner.
Registration: $15– Application and background screening forms must be submitted no later than May 25.

Hillsborough County Extension Service, in partnership with United Way of Tampa Bay and the National Disability Institute, will offer the Florida Master Money Mentor Certification program to train a referral network of volunteer mentors. The mentors provide basic personal finance coaching to individuals in the community. Prospective mentors will receive approximately 20 hours of intensive training in basic money management and mentoring techniques. Social service agencies, church groups and other organizations are encouraged to participate to expand the services they already provide.
Anyone is welcome to apply to be a mentor. No previous financial education or background in financial services or counseling is needed. The application process includes completing a form, a background check, and a short interview. The application process must be completed by May 25. There is a $15 registration fee.
