A one-day parenting and divorce class for divorcing parents who have minor children will be held Jan. 11, 25, Feb. 8, 22, March 8, 22, April 5, 19, May 10, 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hillsborough County Cooperative Extension Service Office, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner. Registration is $25 and includes the cost of the class workbook.
This four-hour class fulfills court-ordered class requirements when minors are involved in a divorce. Parents must register individually and may not attend the same session unless prior special permission is given.
This class emphasizes shared parenting/permanency of parental role; child development stages and impacts of divorce; communicating with your children; communicating with the other parent; child abuse and spouse abuse; legal concepts and community resources; and families in transition. Attendance certificates will be given at the end of class.
Children are not permitted in the class. Picture identification is required to enter the class.
