Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the second annual Planes, Trains & Automobiles event at Plant City Airport.  The free event kicks off with a flyover by the United States Navy.

There will be vintage and modern airplanes to see, remote control planes on the ground and in the air, model trains in operation and on exhibit, and contemporary, classic and exotic car displays. There will also be antique railroad equipment, train artifacts and memorabilia. Plus, there a kids play area, music, food and more.

Flights in a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor vintage aircraft will be offered for $75. One of only three in operation in the world, the airplane was part of the original Eastern Airlines fleet.

Kids 8-17 can take free airplane flights (not Tri-Motor) as part of the EAA Young Eagles Program, and Boys Scouts will have an opportunity to earn their aviation and railroading merit badges.

Again, admission is free. Parking is $5. The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce presents Planes, Trains & Automobiles at the Plant City Airport, 4007
Airport Rd., Plant City.
