The Florida Academy of the Performing Arts will host a Songwriters Workshop featuring recording artist Mark O'Shaughnessy Oct. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Drive, Brandon. O'Shaughnessy will show his knowledge of song structure, melody, lyrics and rhyming, rhythm and inspiration in this two-hour workshop. Pre-registration is $10, or $15 at the door.
