FishHawk Brush Fire Reportedly Under Control

A large brush fire in the FishHawk Ranch area this afternoon is reportedly now under control.

Around 1:30 p.m., resident Rob Zulkoski reported seeing flames reaching at least 40 feet high in the area behind the FishHawk Publix Supermarket just as Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was arriving on the scene.

Ray Yeakley, public information officer for the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, was unavailable. But, according to Marie Gilmore, a FishHawk Ranch resident and publisher of the Osprey Observer, eight units responded to the 2-acre brush fire.
