Gibsonton Bicyclist Dies In Crash On U.S. 41

GIBSONTON, FL — A 63-year-old Gibsonton man died after riding his bike into the path of an SUV on U.S. 41 and Big Bend Road Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 6:30 a.m. Jorge Aguilera-Camejo, 37, of Tampa was driving a GMC Sierra south on U.S. 41 when Karl David Burkey rode his bicycle into his path.

Burkey was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he died.
