GIBSONTON, FL – A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy got more than he bargained for when he attempted to arrest a grand theft auto suspect at a Gibsonton convenience store.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy spotted Ellen Pride, 24, and Alexander Rogue, 19, Thursday, March 8 at about 3:30 p.m. at the Joy Food Store, 10810 U.S. 41 S., Gibsonton.

Rogue was resisting the deputy’s attempt to handcuff him when a sheriff’s detective and second deputy arrived to assist. While the deputy and the detective placed Rogue in custody, Pride reportedly reached into Rogue’s front left pocket. The second deputy tried to place her in custody but she resisted as well.

When they corralled Rogue into the back seat of the sheriff’s car, he began kicking and threatening to kill them. At one point, he kicked the car door so hard it separated the door from the frame of the car.

Meanwhile, Pride continued to yell and pull away from the deputy who had handcuffed her. She eventually got her right hand free from the handcuffs and bit the deputy through his uniform pants, breaking the skin.

Both were charged with two counts of resisting arrest and two counts of violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. Rogue is also charged with grand theft auto, driving with a suspended license and two counts of threatening a public servant.
